Three out of four people experience God as angry, distant, or critical.
We may believe in theory that God is love. But in practice, many of us live with a low ceiling in our relationship with him. We work hard. We pray. We keep going. And still, we often feel like God is disappointed, or that no matter what we do, it will never be enough.
The consequences are real. Spiritual burnout. Addictions and coping strategies. A quiet disconnect that leaves us asking, is this really all there is?
Eden Project exists to address this very problem.
Our mission is simple: to (re)train people to connect deeply with God, themselves, and others. We believe change doesn’t come simply from more information, but primarily from safe, relational environments where souls can heal. We call these environments “relational incubators.” Because we were malformed in relationship, we can only be reformed in relationship.
The Journey Home Retreat is one of the clearest expressions of that vision.
It’s a two-night retreat designed to create a safe environment where your soul can open to the love of God. Through teaching, guided practices, group spiritual direction, and unhurried space, participants begin to reform their emotional image of God and discover what it means to live at home in his love.
And it’s working.
Last year alone, 113 people attended The Journey Home. Many walked away with new freedom, a clearer view of who God is, and practical rhythms to carry his love back into daily life.
This is what we long for: not just more knowledge about God, but the experience of his love transforming our lives and relationships.
We would love for you to join us.
Our next retreats are scheduled for October 28–30, 2025 at Ferncliff Conference Center in Arkansas (registration closes September 24), and January 26–28, 2026 at La Palmilla Resort in Texas (registration closes December 18).
Space is limited, and each retreat does fill. If you sense God inviting you into this, you can learn more or register today at:

What if God is better than you’ve believed him to be? What if the ceiling you’ve hit isn’t the end of the road, but the beginning of a new one?
Jesus is inviting you . . .
Come rest. Come receive. Come home.
With you on the journey,
The Eden Project Team
Stories of Transformation:
Lynn came to The Journey Home not fully aware of what was happening inside her. Like so many of us, she carried a constant hum of hurry and distraction.
“I didn’t realize the noise in my soul until this retreat,” she told us afterward.
Something shifted as she entered the quiet rhythm of the weekend. Space to breathe. Space to be still. Space where she didn’t have to perform.
“It led me into true solitude,” she said, “leaving me rested, restored, and more attuned to the Holy Spirit’s whisper.”
This is the kind of transformation we pray for each time people step into The Journey Home—that the inner noise would quiet down, and the love of God would become more than an idea, but a lived experience.
Help Us Keep Going.
Because of partners like you, Lynn found quiet in the noise and came home to love.
She stepped into The Journey Home carrying a hum she could hardly name.
By the end, the retreat’s rhythm had led her into true solitude—she left rested, restored, and more attuned to the Holy Spirit’s whisper.
You can help create more stories like this.
The Eden Project runs on the faithful generosity of people who believe in this work—people like you. If this mission has impacted you or someone you love, please consider making a tax-deductible gift to sustain our ministry and open space for others to live at home in his love.
